This has been a rather interested few weeks. We have been working on the podcast for clarity, and information. There has been yarn dying, wool washing, and of course knitting but, the biggest deal has been the illness of one of my kiddos. Man-Cub has been severely ill, and I have been home with him using vacation time to get him back into well enough shape so that he could get back to school. Today was his first day back, and my first day back to work in 10 days...yes, 10 days.
In the last 10 days, I have played nurse, cook, maid, Wife and Mother, and remembered what it is like to be a full time stay at home Mom, it is grueling. I do take this seriously, and because of that, I feel being a SAHM is a lot of work. If one takes into account all that has to be done if the parent that is home works it all day, there is a lot! Now, yes I could have sat on my duff and done minimal tasks, and taken care of MC only but, that seemed wrong. I can't sit as my home becomes a disaster, and in my mind, it is part of the job. So, I did what came natural to me, I worked on the house...a lot. I think on average I washed dishes 3xs daily, did 3 loads of laundry to get things that neeeded washed, washed, and to wash linens to freshen them up from the closet, and the linens on the beds, all 4 of them, lol.
All in all, it kept me busy, it helped calm my mind over MC's illness, and keep me moving on a schedule. Between medicines, herbals, teas, soups, pure foods being cooked, fruits/veggies being juiced, taking temps, filling ice packs, runs to the doctor's office, runs to the pharmacy, I am pooped. It paid off though, MC is back to school today, and feeling well enough to function on a minimal level, thank God.
There were nights that I would stay awake, in a fog listening to him breath as I stood in the doorway. If I heard him cough I would wait to see if he got up. I listen for anything and everything. He may be 17 but, he was in bad shape, and I have not had to stay home with him before, this time it was/is bad, and I won't sit back as my child is sick.
Did I get any knitting done? Sure I did between all of that...lol. Here is what I am working on right now...

| Smooshing Mom's Shawl, still knitting away on it. |
There are also completed socks, and some knee highs on the needles, yes more knee highs, the second ones for the Volleyball Queen. I will photograph them, and get them on here for your perusal but, for now I will bask in the shawl I am making for my Mother. Oh, and can someone remind me to mail out the yarn I dyed? I am a mental basket case right now but, I am a happy Mama, with a kiddo on the mend. It is all worth it, and more.
